Olivia Dowler

From Weirton, WV, Olivia Dowler received a BA from West Virginia University in 2024 with triple majors in History, Spanish, and Philosophy.

An emerging political leader and community advocate devoted to increasing civic engagement and expanding opportunities for young people across West Virginia, Olivia ran for the West Virginia House of Delegates in her final semester at WVU.

While she did not win, she was selected as a delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention, representing West Virginia on a national stage. Following her campaign, Olivia became the Communications Specialist for the West Virginia Democratic House Legislative Committee. In this position, she has transformed how House Democrats communicate with the public by developing and managing a comprehensive digital strategy across multiple platforms, producing multimedia content, and launching a legislative email newsletter. 

In 2025, Olivia was asked by state leadership to revitalize the West Virginia Young Democrats after years of inactivity. As interim president, she rewrote the organization’s governing documents, rebuilt its leadership structure, and successfully rechartered the state chapter with the Young Democrats of America. After being elected president later that year, she now leads efforts to expand chapters across high schools, colleges, and counties statewide.
